The Concussion Institute offers a personalized rehabilitation program aimed to help both adults and children who sustained a concussion or any other traumatic brain injury. Our interventions are designed to help individuals having either recently suffered a concussion, or those who have chronic, lingering symptoms.
Based on recent scientific evidence, the professionals at the Institute developed and supervise a personalized rehabilitation program. Immediately following a concussion, the faster the appropriate care and education are provided, the better the chance of preventing the onset of many issues such as a new concussion before full recovery, academic problems, and more importantly, post-concussion syndrome.
Post-concussion Syndrome (Chronic Symptoms)
In this case, the rehabilitation program will be specifically oriented to help overcome lingering symptoms and persistent cognitive deficiencies as well as to guide the progressive return to regular daily activities. These can include a return to school, sports or work.
Based on the needs of the client, this program can include:
Kinesiology-based rehabilitation using gradual, sub-maximal exercise
Neuropsychological evaluation and remediation
Psychological care if required (anxiety, depression etc.)
